A Late Start

Well, this morning we got a late start going to the beach. Getting a late start has its disadvantages. You now and then will meet a real jerk on the beach. This morning was no exception. The Pappies and I walked almost to the rocks (a good 2 mile walk) --- Found some gorgeous seaglass along the way. On the way back a few folks were milling around Fort Story Beach. Some short, fat, cantankerous man walked up to me and looked like he was "seething". He blurted out that "pits were not allowed on the beach". I looked at him and said, "these are not pits ---- they are papillons" --- He started foaming at the mouth and lectured me to say that no pets are allowed on the beach....blah, blah, blah....I knew immediately not to be confrontational. I smiled and said, "thank you very much for that information" and I walked away. Next time I'll know better than to get a late start. Hopefully, I'll not run into him again. Everyone else that we encountered (Park Police included) stopped and just loved the dogs and told me it was perfectly okay to have them on the beach. The good news is that we found over 100 pieces of seaglass of which 1/2 of it is good for making jewelry. Also, more good news. The lady that runs the gift shop at the Park told me that on July 25th, I can set up a table and sell my jewelry. I'm very excited about that news. I must sign off now and get busy making jewelry.
