Ho Hum Jaunt for Glass

The papillons and I arrived on the beach around 7:00 p.m. yesterday evening. I was quite surprised to see all the people down along the shoreline. Most of them were either fishing or crabbing. Raw chicken everywhere. It was all I could do to walk along and keep Amber from snatching someone's crab bait. It was definitely a challenge trying to find the most coveted piece of sea glass. I would have to say that the majority of the finds were the routine brown and white selections. Much to my delight, a couple of turqoise pieces showed up and a nice piece of pottery. Funny thing happened. There must have been 20 or more people gathered closely along the shore with their crab lines and buckets. There was no room for us to pass. I decided to go around and look along the debris line from last nights tide. Right then I spotted the nice pottery shard and a nice frosted piece of white glass. I think that goes to show that a detour can be advantageous. I'd like to think that detours in my life have been beneficial, as well.
